we usually saltwater fish and spend spring break on trinity/galveston bay but the RV park we stay at closed down. we have a trip planned to a RV park on sleepy hollow lake but Lake Livingston is close and since i just finished decking out the bigger boat (wide bottom jonboat) and sleepy hollow is a no motor lake. i have thought about take the big boat along and hit Livingston for some catfish since sleepy hollow is more bass, crappie and bluegill.

question 1. i have found a couple of boat ramps/marinas on the southend of the lake which is closer to where we are staying. one is the state park and the other is across the dam. i would have to pay to use the ramp but i couldn't find any free ramps on that side of the lake. is there a better ramp to use? i know 59 at the trinity river has a boat ramp but the wife won't let the boy go into the river. too many body recoverys with the VFD.

question 2. the second week of March 9th is our spring break. what would be the better time of day to hit lake livingston (morning, afternoon or evening into dark)? people have trouble prodecting the weather including the people with master of education in it, so would we have better luck with cold and wind or hot and still or even hot and windy?

question 3. should we try coves or stay in the main body and try deeper?

thanks
Phillip

State park is good watch the wind in open water.
Kickapoo creek up by Onalaska has always been good to us.
Coves seemed better in the mornings, that time of year its hard to tell if they will be shallow or deep.
Good luck!
