I'm completely new to Crappie Fishing but i hear its some really good fishing and eating. I've been reading on this forum and think i have a spot picked out. The 360 bridge over walnut creek...question is we'll be bank fishing and i'm assuming my best bet is going to be minnows since we wont be able to jig. My son (9) is all about fishing and i want to make sure i have all my bases covered for tomorrow...anyone have any tips or advice for fishing Crappie?

I agree that minnows would be a good choice starting out. I'd fish them under floats and experiment with the depth until you see a pattern. Fish close to cover, if there is any there. Keep moving if you're not catching fish. Good luck.

Keep an eye out for snakes in and around the brush. It's about time that they start coming out. Otherwise, what CaptainCrunch said.

All the above. Also, drinks, snacks and a jacket for the boy. Otherwise you may have to cut your trip shorter than you like. A life jacket and extra change of clothes may not be a bad idea either. The banks can be very steep and slippery. Water is still very cold.

use quill type floats .....the pencil lookin ones ....one small split shot and a minnow hook
pitch it close to cover if you can ....and expect to ketch a few sand bass .....
the sand bass are in the creeks pretty good .....
