Hit my local pond this PM and found them on beds. Some just showing up but found this one locked in about to do the deed.  Hit your local ponds and find those elusive monsters.

The spawn hasn't started in the DFW area yet, where do you live?

There are some good county park ponds all around. There is a good one on Katy Hockley rd about a mile north of FM529 that I've yanked a few big ones out of. There are bridges that cross pond in a couple areas plus a few piers to cast off of also.

It's called Paul D. Rushing park I believe. No soccer fields but they do have a cricket field set up in front and 2 baseball fields past that. And behind all that is a juvi detention center. Last time I was there was July of last year, water way down, vegetation was wild.
It should be good to go right now. Weedless soft plastics and top waters is really the only way to fish it, unless they've done some weed control on it this past fall and winter
