Hello to the Texas Fishing Forum, I'm from Venice Beach California and my tournament travel partner Troy Lindner and I not long ago returned from Del Rio and the Bassmaster Amistad Open. He fishes the pro side and I'm on the Co side. We have talked about a visit to Amistad for a long time. Based on its reputation we had visions of Big Bass and heavy limits. Wow what a tough bite, glad I was comfortable with the drop shot. Just wanted to say hi and a shout out to all the great people in Texas. Don't know if it's a big city thing (Los Angeles) or a California thing but the people in Texas are awesome and drama free, what a fresh breath. We both finished well and this was my 1st trip to Amistad and my 1st B.A.S.S. event. We're looking forward to another trip to Texas, hopefully sooner than later. Wish Amistad would've been a little more hospitable towards you guys. It's nice to hear good things from "outsiders" about coming to Texas. We all too often take for granted what we have right under our nose in this great state.

Derek, I moved to the Houston area from Venice 2 years ago. Im a 4th gen Angelino, and Ill never move back. Texas people are the best people Ive found. And the housing market suits me a lot better too!

Welcome Another CA transplant here. Been almost 2 years now since we moved. Best thing I could have done for the family. You CA boys are ever in Ft Worth look me up and we can do some fishin. They made me drop the g in "fishing" in order to stay on this forum......
