Is anyone going to the Classic this weekend? I am sitting around tonight trying to decide if I should drive out there or not. It is a long ways to drive over the weekend and I know that Bassmaster Classic Expo is amazing and how much I love going to those things but I am just wondering if I should go to the Classic or stay around here and catch some fish all weekend? Any thoughts?

Both sound like good options. The classic is only once a year tho. A lot of good fishing coming up. If I could go I would make the trip to Guntersville.

I went to the classic in New Orleans and yes the expo in the sugar dome was great but you can only look over it so long and you have seen it all. There was a tv screen at the weigh in stage that would show some updates during the day. I remember them talking about someone got shot at, I don't remember who it was. You have to go in to the weigh in stage really early if you wanted a good/close seat for it. Plus we did the bourbon street thing and so on! I'm sure there's a lot more to it now than 10 years ago. The biggest thing I remember is "Michael who?" Had hardly heard of the guy. Who would have thought! If it is the same today as it was back then I would say stay home and go fishin mainly because of the long drive and the fishin is starting to pick up here! The best view is on the tv anyway. Just my 2cents

Nope. But I sure wish I was.

Went to Classic and Forest Wood Cup last year. Would go this year to the Classic but will be fishing a tournament instead.

Go to the Classic. Like Dizz said, you have a ton of good fishing coming up but the Classic is only once a year. If you have the opportunity to go now then go.

I've been twice; once @ New Orleans when KVD won and Shreveport. Also once @ FLW championship Shreveport......I had planed to go to Oklahoma last year for the Classic as well but the weather didn't cooperate on the day I could go.......My goal in life is to fish in either of these once before I gone from this earth. I've been away from the game for 14 years and have a lot of ground to make up......
