Sounds like it may need a new insert which is the pipe piece the plug fits in or possibly just seal it good wit 3m 4200 sealant if its not cracked.

I've developed a very slow leak in my G3 that sounds just like yours. I've tried several drain plugs, but it still leaks. It looks like the insert was just pressed into the transom and spot welded in a couple of places and maybe it's torqued loose. I'm going to go by Tracker and see what Gary thinks about it. If the tube is in good shape, having it welded all the way around might be the way to go. I don't like to see water in the hull either.

I can add pics soon but after 3 hours some water drains out. It's not much but still. Not supposed to happen. Thanks!

Yeah they do we had a skiff in the backyard and the rivets rusted loose. Water would come in. But this is fiberglass on my boat

engine bolts, check that they are tight and sealed. if your not sure reseal them by taking one at a time out and reseal (I use marine GOOP found at academy).
could also be a livewell pump, check that the thru hull is not cracked (this cost me a transom rebuild in my champion)

I narrowed mine down to the tube in the transom that holds the drain plug. It looks like they are just pressed in with probably some caulking around it. I talked to Gary today at Tracker and he suggested what I was thinking but wanted someones blessing first. I'm going to clean the paint from around the tube and have a bead welded around it. Aluminum isn't going to rust with paint gone and it's below the waterline so no one sees it and I can quit anguishing over taking on water.

I had mine fixed today. Had a bead welded all the way around the tube. My transom where the tube is, is on;y a single thickness of aluminum, no backing. The drain plug tube was pressed in at manufacturing and sealed with something that obviously is not a permanent set up. My welder wire brushed off the paint, ran a bead around the tube, said I owed him $20, so I gave him $40 and we were both happy.

I just don't like seeing any water in the hull for any reason. When you see it all the time and don't do anything about it, you start thinking that's natural and when you really do have a problem, you brush it off because you think it's normal. Better to fix it..

Why Don't you guys put the plug in and fill it up with water and see where it leaks from... I was scared I would sink when I bought my first boat and dis that to ensure I didn't take on water...when my seat were nearly submerged I called it good haha

I have a kenner and was having same problem. I found that every hose clamp on the plumbing of the boat had loosened up thru the years. I replaced them all and it took care of it.
