Those came out in the late 90's.
They are fine, except when you dink one of the props lol. If you need spare, you need two. I believe they can also change out the lower units and convert to a single prop.

Steering torque can be a biatch if not set up properly. That said, one of the hottest 150's ever built. However, I don't like the idea of two props.
Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

I've had mine since 98, bought it brand new with my skeeter, gps even now i can get 68, no bow lift, no steering torque, i have a 12 inch jackplate and it was set up from the dealer just as it is now. I can take my hands off the wheel and it will steer straight. The original set up was because BASS allowed only up to 150 engines so Yamaha designed these to get more speed out of a 150, but they changed the rules soon afterwards. I have always been worried about the twin props, but the blades are stout. I have one blade out of 6 (three per prop) that needs some work now after 16 years. Engine runs great still, I have had the inner shaft replaced due to the dealer saying it was bent, (hit something in the water) but insurance paid for it, and I was not able to see the bend in the shaft.I am only now getting some work done on the tilt and trim and lower unit and this has been all of the southwest and hit my share of stumps, and pulled tubing kids for hours on end. Guys on the coast like them because of the no bow lift, if you have a hydraulic jack plate you can get up in very skinny water.
