Ease up on marlin3. Did you notice he was from Southern California? He might not know what an Atlantic shark looks like.

Nice fish,I caught a brown tented shark a couple weeks ago that we thru back, sand shark? Fun to bring in,but I wasnt brave enough to grab it We went on a snapper trip on the big e. the boat people said it wasnt red snapper season? The boat trip we had had about 10-12 really good size snappers, and the rest just over the 16in limit. Is it different in freeport?Just curious.

Catching those Atlantic sharpnose are almost like catching schooling sandies. When they come to the chum, you can't get a bait past them to get to the other fish (like snapper). In fact, it's often times difficult getting your red snapper back through the sharks before they have at it. But, I do like eating them grilled and they are fun to catch...

Megaboy-wrote a small summary in this link. http://www.texasfishingforum.com/.ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=12;t=000613
*take some light tackle, ultralite or whatever, along with a live bait pin and take the time to catch yourself a couple dozen piggy perch the night before. Be well worth it,the said it was like crack to the amberjack.

brewboy, dont be a jerk. he didnt specifically state shark fishing and he resides on the east coast. further, a legitimate concern is nothing to snap at.....

Man, some of you guys are tough!! I said I didn't want to cause any problems and I didn't. I have never even heard of the sharks you were after. I fish the East Cape of Baja for Marlin, Wahoo, Dorado, etc. I have never fished on purpose for any kind of sharks. Sorry if I offened anyone with my question. Especially BrewBoy... I think you need another one or to so you can calm down. Thanks for the explanation gatorgar!
