Castaway has been around for a long time and has a very good and versatile line of rods. Sooooo many different choices and they have good customer service. With so many different options you can have the different handle lengths and actions to fit any need. I have taken my Castaway Rods to Lake Falcon and they ALL survived and we did not break a single one. That is a good test of any rod! ( I have seen some GLoomis Rods not pass that test!!! ) I have always had the best of service and it is not far to the factory for me if I make a trip to Houston or Conroe. BUT it ultimately comes down to your preference. WE ALL can say what is the best for US but you have to answer the question for yourself - Do you like Ford or Chevy???

I love all of my Skeletons. I am actually about to go pick up a couple of new ones. I haven't fished with their new line of rods but may pick one up. You cannot beat them for the price. They are awfully light and pretty dang sensitive. Like others have said, their customer services is amazing. Go to the factory and they will take care of you!

Hard to compare price points of $159 compared to $250-$380.

With all due respect, the Ford/Chevy thing does not apply here. I used to have several skeletons, and really liked them......until I discovered Power Tackle. They are better in every way. Ford/Ferrari might be a better comparison. If price isn't a problem, go with Power Tackle.

Power Tackle are very well built sticks and Judy & Tim are excellent people to deal with. I have used there products for about four years and have never looked back! I don't have experience with castaway rods, but had some custom rods built on the big show blanks.

The new CastAway Invicta series is unreal. built on an all new 40 ton graphite blank for the best of all worlds (strength sensitivity and weight). You won't be disappointed. Has bronze zirconium guides (top of the line). Double locking reel seat hood, Winn golf split grip handle, stays tacky, dry, wet, hot, or cold. It is one of the lightest and strongest rods you'll pick up. It is a step up in price, $250 range, but well worth it. Won't regret putting your hands on one. This rod is built for the jig and soft plastic fisherperson, due to its strength, sensitivity, and weight.

That's not a fair comparison. Power tackle rods are just in another league, but that's not knocking castaway.
