Lucky for me Old Coach invited me to go with him again. Met Robert (Old Coach) to fish Cedar Creek Saturday, we put in at Don's Port (steep ramp but easy in/out).
Wind reports were for 10-15 mph but they cooperated and stayed just about perfect. Rob and I talked on the way to the lake about how it was going to be a great day weather wise and if we happen to catch a fish that would be great. Went to our first spot in the creek channel, 42 fow marked a few fish and put the spot lock on. Stayed there for two hours catching a lot more fish than we expected. Good fat quality fish to 16". Left there and looked around but didn't find anything so went back and fished till we got tired. Lure of choice today was the thump buddy in blue with white tale. The fishing was not fast and furious but steady all day. Location, location, location. Must get the bait in there face and hold it there. Most of ours came 3-4 cranks off the bottom.
Caught one fish that spit up three small shad. See pic and the baits we were using were the same size. No problem with threadfin shad at CC marked tons of them.
Cedar Creek has been a great place to fish this winter.

Yep.. Took my dad and brother out Saturday and had a great day. We struggled the first couple of hours and then found them on a main lake hump in 38 fow and caught them for about 3 hours. Nice fat sand bass with one 8 lb hybrid. My temp gage said 46

Water temp ranged from 45 to almost 47.

Glad ya had a good trip. It's been good this winter.

It was great to see that the shad population is alive and well in Cedar Creek . It is also great to have a fishing partner like Steve .He will go fishing any where any time : all it takes is one phone call.

And he loves doubles coach or triples
