i also carry super glue for small nicks and cuts, but sometimes its too big for superglue

Quick Clot is a handy product in very serious situations where medical help is a long way off. However, quick clot can be counter productive in smaller, less life threatening cases. Once your in a position to treat and clean the wound the residue left by quick clot can be very hard to clean out of the wound. There is also cases where allergic reactions have occurred to the activating ingredient. But all in all, it will do more good than harm, and it will stop bleeding.

Dental floss and superglue to make butterfly closure, heavy/braided line could work too if it is fairly clean. then you can cover it with plastic and tape to keep it dry/clean too.

patched up a guys hand while backpacking in the mountains, told him to go to a hospital for antibiotics and real stitches. ran into him three days later without any further treatment, he said he kept it clean with the prep pads we gave him and didnt look or smell infected.
