My wife and are are going to be doing a Zip-Line tour on Lake Travis in a couple of months. Anyone have any tips on good places to eat close to there?

What type of food? A couple mentioned the Oasis and it is good for the view but personally I wouldn't feed their food to the pigs but then I can't stand TexMex. What do you want to spend? There are so many good places but it all depends upon your expectations.

If you want really really good upscale Mexican then go to Corazon at Castle Hills in the 1100 block of West 5th (downtown), it is very good food without all the cheese and sauce that passes for food at most Mexican restaurants. On Hwy 620 near Lake Travis is a myriad of places to eat from the local taco stand to Olive Garden and other types of chain food.

Also on 620 is Hudson's on the Bend...a very good but a little pricey place that serves excellent food. Nice place to take the wife for a very nice atmosphere and meal.

Salt Lick BBQ is probably the closest place to Lake Travis that has a reputation for BBQ.

Opie's Barbecue in Spicewood. It's probably right where you are zip lining.
