Very nice! Carp from rivers and creeks always seem especially strong, from fighting the currents I guess.
Bigjohn - Some simple baits are canned sweetcorn, thread a few corners onto a number six hook, I'd say between 2-6 kernals, I usually cover the whole hook, and thread one or two in the line, but if they are not feeding heavily less works well. Other good baits are Wheaties balls, doughballs made from mixing crushed Wheaties cereal with a liquid, I usually just use water from wherever I'm fishing, but some people like Big Red soda or Strawberry Soda, things like that. Oatmeal balls mixed the same way work well too. And there are many other baits that are a bit more complicated, boilies work very well, Lonestar can fill you in on them I'm sure.

lived on lake stocked with carp for 6 years and always dried with bread and never caught any carp.
I was a teen at the time but still today I wished I could catch a carp.

My parents used to have a summer home on a river in Ohio and my mom would cook cornmeal and put cotton balls in the mix and then make dough balls with the cotton on the inside.great baits and stays on the hooks well.

OK, cool. I've waded down the creek the opposite direction once before with no luck. I have only been there once and have never checked out the other side of the rock.
