they are the largest fresh water predator I belive thailand has them to 400lbs but I could be wrong

sorry it looked like a Arapaima wich is the largest fresh water predator I thought that barra was Aussie name for them my mistake smile

They can get up to around 1.5 metres in length and weigh in at close to 40 kg. They are found across most of Southern Asia, but the Top End of Australia is the stronghold. The N.T is where the big wild Barra are found, these days fish over the magical metre are quite common. Barra are, without a doubt the most sought after sportfish in Australia.

What's a whaler? Whale sharks are actually filter-feeders that eat plankton, so they can't be guilty in this case.
