When flipping and pitching with 65lb braid, does the color of the braid make any difference? And on that same note, does the color of the tungsten weight matter? I use only black weights most of the time.

I use a leader so it does not bother me, I would think if you are fishing heavy cover it would not matter at all, I use black or green pumpkin weights.

Hey C Worthy,

I think the right answer is..... We don't know. Most guys use green but I've been in the boat with a BASS Elite that used bright yellow.

Yellow is awesome for detecting (the fisherman) line movement.

For reeds I flip 65lb suffix in neon green don't seem to have any problems, I like to be able to see the line well, and the green seems the best for me, use to flip the neon orange but it's hard to find now adays

Seems like I am in the right group then. I bought some timber brown for pitching around timber but it "is" harder to see line movement so this time I got aqua green which is easier to see and blends nicely with lilly pads. So I guess it is not what color the fish prefer but what color the fisherman prefers. LOL hooked

I was under the assumption that black stood out more than other colors, red is the first color lost in light, black is the last

Introducing myself to the forum.
I have used both dark green and yellow. I tend to use yellow when flipping to structure and cover and green usually goes to baitcast and spinner baits for me. The darker green is harder (for me) to see, especially in the stained waters, so that is the reasoning for my choices. I have caught off both with no indifferences. I do use leaders though, usually Cajun Red in 20 lb test. It knot very good and is supposedly invisible to fish at 3 feet of water (for what it's worth).

Used to do this on my spinning rods and not use leader worked great on cedar creek for docks. But cedar creek has dirt water color. I almost never throw braid to lure without leader unless it's lipless crank chatter bait or spinner bait. I just don't seem to get as many bites maybe just a confidence thing though
