Is there anyone on this forum that fishes LOP? That is the primary lake that I fish and I would like to find someone else local to bounce some ideas off of.

A few years ago, a fellow reported hooking up to one the size of a 14ft flatbottom! LOL

Let me guess. It was near the dam and divers are scared to dive there as well? I hear the same story for almost every lake. I can tell you that I was fishing the outtake at that lake one night and the largest fish I have ever seen on my sonar passed underneath my boat. I had cut shad out all around me and didn't get a bite, but it was a monster sized something. I wish I would've taken a screen shot of it. Hind sight is 20/20.

Ive been out there a bunch to catfish....... have not been into any flats or blues, but if you like to channel cat they are everywhere. We usually take a jon boat and tie up over in the sticks and drop homemade channel dough bait and hook into about 20 or so each time.....hope this helps

I don't think it was. It was headed away from the outtake or I would agree.

I've always done well on channels in the sticks too. I just want to know where the blues and ops are hiding. I know they are there.

We fish it often, have a 'cottage" thats northern talk for cabin, in Copeland creek area. As stated earlier, fish punch bait or Charlie right off bottom just about anywhere in the stumps. On West side of Watts island the creek goes , just locate it and fish just off channel. Thats all we do and usually do good. Its getting close to nice weather for cat fishin and little eatin. time

I just moved from Marshall. Fished LOP mostly from the bank since 1964. I read about a trot line catch of 3 flatheads all over 50 pounds caught on Johnson Creek 2 or 3 years ago. Biggest I ever caught was a 13 pound flat head on a hot dog at the spill way on a hot dog. I used to ads in the Longview paper about a guy that fished from a pontoon boat for catfish, but don't know anything about him.
