Hooks is one of the things you don't wanna try to save money with. Gamakatsu, owner, and the lighter wire trokars. Wouldnt use much else.

Hooks is one of the things you don't wanna try to save money with. Gamakatsu, owner, and the lighter wire trokars. Wouldnt use much else. Agreed. I'm a "for the money" guy. . .but not with hooks. Buy top quality in bulk, like 100ct, it's usually cheaper than cheaper hooks in packs of 4 or 5.

I can't speak to the Trokar but Definitely a fan of Gams and Owners. +1 on buying in bulk.

I have been using VMCs the last year and very happy with them. They cost a bit less than most and have had no issues. Their EWGs and their flipping hooks are excellent.

very surprised with the VMC finesse EWG hooks I bought recently. I didnt notice until I went to tie one on.... they use a sealer at the hook eye to keep line chaffing obsolete. On 6# test, that is very important! pretty impressed with them.
always been a gamakatsu and owner fan. VMC is climbing up the ranks.
