We fished Wheeler last sunday and man was it rough. Ive always caught fish out there but sunday was the exception. We got out there when the gate opened and left about 1:00. We caught one 2.5-3 lber up in the creek shallow with a square bill. Water temp was 46 degrees. Has anyone else been out there and any luck?

Headed there with the family on Monday. We'll be fishing from the bank though. This will only be the 2nd time there but the 1st time was good. Wife caught a few small ones and I caught a couple that fell in the slot. I like to think that's pretty good for bank fishing. Let me keep thinking that.

I was thinking of going there tomorrow but I am tired of being skunked out there. I caught a few small mouth and lm last summer and a lot of catfish but I am not having any winter luck out there. I think the water is super cold.

It's just not you that is having bad luck this year so far, it's almost every lake in texas right now, cold water, a few more weeks with hot weather like this and it should be on.
