What is the state law about casting into an area that says no boats or boats keep out bouys? For example a water intake area. Also is there any tournament rule about this? I personally don't do it in tournaments because I'm not sure about the actual rule.

no law against casting inside the bouys, unless stated by a sign on site. Most tournaments require that if you cannot put your boat in it than you cannot cast in it,which means that it is a immanginary brick wall.

I've heard that rule but if everyone doesn't read or get told the rules then they don't know they're breaking them. I just wonder what the game wardens enforce??

Ignorance of the law is no excuse. If someone is going to fish they should read up on the body of water regs. The game wardens enforce the law to the letter 99% of the time. If you tell a cop you didn't know you were breaking the law when you were, don't expect any sympathy. It's your responsibility to know the rules.

Not true
Most trails do not have rules against fishing inside of bouys as long as the boat stays out
I think the elites do but that's the only one that comes to mind. All minor league stuff it's okay

It's up to the angler to know the rules of the tournament they are fishing

By setting the boat at the Bouys and casting a trap up against the spill way , this guy comes Motoring up and parks his boat right where I'm casting. !!! I said hey !! Don't these Bouys mean anything ?? His reply was - it means a big fine if ya get cought - he had his wife and two youn kids with him and I dident want to Create a scene in front of them so I just shook my head & moved on , what a jack wagon raising them kids with no Values !!

Most trails specify off limits on a given body of water....If you don't know then ask and get clarification.

Say, didn't Honey Hole show in his video on Monticello fishing OVER the boundary markers and cables?
There were other boats staying right there too...no anchoring - they did that right..

I used to fish the Trinity below lake livingston, boats would be lined up behind the aerial bouy line, casting way up to the discharge. On occasion a boat would slip over the line and an air horn would sound from one of the banks where wardens were watching.

Honey Hole yesterday at Monticello. rolfmao I would of said something but there were already 5 other boaters outside the ropes when I pulled in, and watching these guys slay em on live bait was the best action I had for most of the day. Besides, I don't think they could of heard anything with all the waterfall noise. bang And they were just flippin. rolfmao

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.
