Should I wake early like 8am or so? or wait like I have been these last few weekends to about noon, when its is about 70deg.
Any other open to public lake/ponds out there in/near Pflugerville?

Right now I would hit it by 8 maybe a little before. I think that is ideal although I'm too lazy to do that at this time of year. Like Lee said though in the heat of summer I'm on the water by 5:45 AM. If you hit the topwater right you can tear them up!

Ya know, I sure throw a LOT of crank bait....hard baits, deep divers and I have yet to experience a 'BIG' hit....LOL, I'm beginning to think these are more designed to catch fishermen not fish! This cold water, I have been throwing 1/2oz Rat-L-Traps...not much luck but, the water is still very cold. Guess I'm expecting too much, too soon

If I had to have just 1 lure it would be white, silver or yellow.
