Looking to spend 3-4 days in Fredericksburg later this month and trying to decide on a hotel/motel.

Want a clean and reasonably priced hotel/motel with a pool and hopefully a hot tub. Not interested in B&Bs.

Has anyone stayed at the Days Inn Suites or the Fredericksburg Inn and Suites? If so, do you recommend them?

Any other recommendations for a good family friendly place to use as a base for some hill country exploration?

Thanks in advance for any input.

Hey Ralph,
I live about 20 min. from Fredericksburg and happen to do electrical work for the Fredericksburg Inn. That is a nice place my friend. I would give them a chance if I were you. They have nice rooms, pool, I believe a hot tub. I've been thinking about taking my wife over there for a little getaway.

Be safe.....Michael

Catfish Addiction,
Thanks for the information. I liked what I had been able to read so far about the Fredericksburg Inn.
According to what I have read it has 2 pools, a hot tub and a playground and is located along the creek. It sounded good and the weekday prices were reasonable to me.
I was hoping to get first hand info and I appreciate your help.
BTW, I see you are in Kerrville. I have been to the hill country many times over the years but mainly in the LLano, F'burg, Burnet, Marble Falls,Austin area.
I plan to get down to Kerrville and maybe Camp Verde on this trip and have a look around.
Anyway, if you live 20 minutes from anywhere in the hill country I think you're living in a pretty good part of Texas!
Thanks again.

Hey Ralph,
If you need any other Info. just let me know. There are some great places to eat around town, and some pretty neat things to check out.

Ralph, I agree, my wife and I did a marriage retreat there when I returned to Texas, and loved it. The place is really nice, we certainly enjoyed it. Its central to just about everything so you can walk. Try the nest when your there, but call for reservations! The creek is just a small tributary, but there are some small brim in it. We are planning a return trip, and plan on staying there. Hope this helps

Thanks guys,
With some changes in plans, we may or may not be staying in Fredericksburg, but we'll definitely be spending at least one full day there. My wife and daughter want to shop and my son has to make it to Dooley's 5&10 and Mr. Gatti's for lunch.
My son and I toured the Museum of the Pacific last year and may do it again.
We have a couple of areas to explore so we're still debating which town will be more central to be the base of operations.
Thanks again.

We were there for the day a couple of week-ends a ago.
We ate at the BrewHaus. Excellent chow and the miro-brew was very good.
My wife thought the shopping was good and the husband benches on the sidewalk were a welcome
relief for me.

You've got to drop in Rustlin Robs and sample a few of their free samples ! My wife and I dropped in there saturday on our way to see my cousins in SA, one sister gave her kidney to the other wednesday and both were doing fine saturday afternoon.
We walked in Rustlin Robs hungry and walked out full !!! They have butters, salsas, jellies, bbq sauce, dips and several other things I'm forgetting of all kinds, along with great fudge too. OH Yeah, they have a good assortment of hot sauce to try too, several people were "crying" and running for cooling samples as they walked away from that corner of the store !! Everything is free to try on either a wheat cracker or pretzel. We were on a limited budget on this unplanned trip so just bought the chocolate/peanut butter butter, chocolate/peanut butter fudge and the Oaxacan bean dip with beer and tequila in it ! They also had a margerita jelly which we almost bought but after sampling it several times we were already feeling the effects of it.... it's basically the drink in jelly form.... and decided against getting it since we would have bought some crackers too and continued eating it all day and I don't "drink" and drive !
A business card was in the bag from there when we got home, you can check out and order their products at www.rustlinrobs.com

MrClyde,
Thanks for the referral. It definitely sounds like a place to check out. My wife and kids seem to have "radar" that finds fudge wherever it is!!
I checked out the link and I'm sure when my wife sees it will be on the "must visit" list.
Thanks again for the information. Who knows, a week from right now, I may be in Rustlin Rob's with a sample in each hand!

Showed my wife the Rustlin Robs website and sure enough, that is where she bought fudge last year. I am sure it will be a stop this time too!
