I can't help you. I haven't been able to take my boat out for the last three weeks, due to health and weather problems. I had intended to take it out today but the doctor yesterday threw a kink in those plans by restricting from driving after the tests yesterday till 4:30 this afternoon. And to ensure I did not sneak out to fish today my daughter had her husband work from my home office today to "help" me with anything I might need, since she could not be here today. I told her she wasn't fooling anybody and she insisted the doctor told her to ensure I did not do anything today until the vein in my leg had time to fully recover from the probe that went through it into my heart. But I do plan on being on the lake tomorrow, wind permitting, and should be able to provide you some information tomorrow night. I told my son-in-law he could "help" me tomorrow by controlling the trolling motor while I fished.

I use my finder to locate them. I weave in and out of the columns, looking for crappie in the open areas. It doesn't take that long to find where they may be holding. Then I fish the columns on both sides of where I see the open fish plus I place a jig with a float over the area where I saw them. But if you are not using a finder then a starting point for both bridges are the X's somebody has painted on columns. But some on this forum will paint the X's one or two columns off from the actual best spot, so if the X doesn't produce, then try columns on both sites, working out from the X's.

Back in 2011 when I got my stent and that big bruise on my leg there is no way I coulda fished in two days. Glad to hear you are ok. Hopefully it was nothing as serious as mine back then. 99% blocked in one. That stent fixed me right up.

Hopefully it was nothing as serious as mine back then. 99% blocked in one. That stent fixed me right up. They didn't do a stent on me although I do have a partly blocked vein. They looked at my heart valve and decided it had to be replaced in the very near future. They suggested before the end of February, I countered with the second week of March as my fairly new granddaughter is coming to visit us the first week of March. Since they have to open my chest to replace the valve it was decided to handle the partly blocked vein at the same time. The heart doctor stated the blockage was less than 40% and could wait, the heart surgeon stated it was greater than 50% but could wait for repair until he opened my chest & heart. He stated he preferred replacing a blocked vein over using a stent so I was going to get a two for one. So somewhere around March 10th I'm going back in for the full treatment. The heart surgeon also stated I could not fish today but I could tomorrow as long as somebody else handled the boat and trolling motor. He also stated I should not make a lot of over head casts but should just drop the bait straight down. But he said by Monday I should be able to do what ever the valve would allow, so I drafted my son-in-law for this weekend. My daughter did not object this time.

Then it will look as if it was a big game of tic-tac-toe, using the bridge columns as a board.

I appreciate the kind thoughts. I will definitely paint the red O's at the Cedar Hill side of the lake. I don't fish the Lynn Creek side but I guess I could make a special trip over there as well. I have two good doctors handling everything so I'm not concerned about the outcome. This surgery is fairly commonplace now and is safe. I was at the slip for awhile today, planning to fish. But it was too windy to take the boat out and too cold for me to fish the slip. A man walked down to my slip and introduced himself, saying he had just rented one of the vacant slips. He stated he would probably be seeing a lot of me since he planned to spent a lot of time on his boat at the slip. Turns out he is having his aortic valve replaced in two weeks. He rented the slip so he would be able to fish the next year without any problems while he completely healed. Plus one of my neighbors had his replaced six months ago. So it appears this is even more commonplace than I though. As I've stated previously, the only thing about this that bothers me is the timing. I should have had the surgery done last November when the symptoms first became worse. Then I would have been recovered when the crappie started biting again. I waited until my scheduled doctor appointment at the end of January, thinking he would tell me I could wait another year or two before having the surgery. Instead he stated he needed to have a test done to be sure but he thought the time had come to replace the valve. It does not pay to procrastinate. Now I will miss this year's prime crappie fishing due to wanting to put this off as long as possible. But I will be back fishing by the end of April at the latest. But I do appreciate the kind thoughts and the PMs from everybody.
