If I catch one, it's probably going to be out of a private lake, so whatever the landowner wants to.

Before I even seen your reply, I was thinking the same thing. It's my fish...I caught it...I'm going to make my decision based on what benefits me the most while taking the health of the fish into consideration.

For me, I'd make sure I got plenty of good pictures so I can get a replica made, and then release her for someone else to have that joy of catching big mama!

1)whatever it takes to have it officially registered for the new record
2) practice these phrases
-I caught Bessy using my Dobyn's Extreme series rod it handled her like a champ!
-I caught Bessy and I couldn't have done it if my Bass Cat hadn't gotten me there!
-I caught Bessy and she just couldn't resist that Lake Fork hyper worm!
-You know I sure was at ease knowing I had McCoys Mean Green 20# spooled up when I caught Bessy!
-There's nothing like a cold Miller Lite after fighting the new TX state record, it really taste great yet its less filling!

No way I'd release that fish.

Catching a new Texas state record would be a massive milestone in bass fishing history and one of the proudest moments of my life.

And a fish that size is likely going to be very very old. Even if you released it, there's no guarantee it'll ever spawn again. Catch and release, to some extent, needs to be practiced for us to grow big bass. But as long as it's a decent sized body of water, I don't think taking that one fish would have a big impact.

If we could keep it alive, it would go into the SAL program.

I would honestly do whatever gave me the most money in the long run. I did not make bass fishing the circus that it has become with people going out and dropping $100,000+ to go out and catch a fish. But I would definitely love to have that kind of money. Sad but I'm honest.

I'd call my buddy Wardo who's PB is 12.5 lbs and tell him to suck it! Then I would put it in my signature that my SAL was 5 lbs bigger than Papamark's. Then I'd post a pic on here asking how much ya'll think she weighs?

I dont exaggerateI just remember BIG !!!
