Ok, all of my spots from the spawn last year that produced well are dried up so I gotta find some new ones. I have seen a few shallow coves in 2-3 FOW with sandy bottoms. Do they like the sandy bottoms or should I look elsewhere?

Sandy bottoms are better than muck. A hard bottom with cover would be the perfect spot.

Look at your spot that is dry... Notice what is around that spot...
My best spots on tawakoni for shallow have some kind of vegetation in the water, as well as lay down logs or other cover ...

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Hard bottoms with gravel tend to produce better than sand or soft bottom for me.
Good luck!

Ok, I know of a couple spots I may try. Thanks for the help. Now that I think about it, my old spots were near rocks and structure.
