Going to make a trip there this summer and wanted to know if anyone has fished the Brazos or any lakes around Bryan. Any tips or pointers would be great! Thanks
Josh A.

Never fished the Brazos while I was down there but fly fished the Bush Library pond and caught bass there. Had decent luck at Lake Bryan fishing the canal and rocks by the power plant but that would be a decent haul in a kayak. There are some spots on Lake Somerville that were pretty good as well. Your best bet in a kayak might be to take a drive on Hwy 21 and fish Madisonville. Caught fish off the dam, in the creek in the back of the lake, and in the grass flats by the creek. Small crank baits, weightless worms, and drop shots worked the best out there.

You need to PM Hook-Line&Sinker here on TFF. He's an avid yak angler and the Bryan area is his home turf. He's got a post over in the Photo section now, and you should be able to shoot him a PM.
