Does anyone know what H2O changed in the new Mettle MT2? Just curious and can't find anything about it online. I'm also wondering if the Realtree Mettle has some different hardware than the standard. . .or are they just charging you an extra $40 for a paint job?

The new MT2 Mettle is a slightly different body shape. It is most noticeable on the left side cover. The reel fits in your hand much better, and weighs about a half ounce less than the original Mettle. Both the camo mettle and new mettle have been updated to the new shape and the new mettle is now $59. So the camo version is $20 more at $79.

Thanks for the info. So all they changed was the aesthetics of the reel?
The Mettle mt2 is on sale for $40 at the moment, that's why there was a $40 difference.
People paying an extra $20 for a camo reel has always been hilarious to me.

Don't you catch more fish when the deer can't see you?
Or is it to hide all those new camo reels you bought in your hunting gear so your wife can't see them?

I got one for Christmas. I've used it several times. Haven't had a problem. The low profile does fit ur hands better. I've got 4 of the old ones love them also. For the dollars u spend I think it's worth it. And it still has the lifetime warranty. I wonder if I can trade my others in for an upgrade. Lol

I bet they can and will... I believe they go back a few months and if they were on sale then they will honor the sale price! So you would probably get 29.99 for you old ones. Never know they may give you the full price! Do they cast the same? That is why I love them with my 7"11 lure launcher and 12lb test I can literally chunk a 6xd a Country Mile!

I have 10 pound floro carbon on mine now. Throws well with soft plastics and spinner baits. I don't get the distance I get with my lews. But ur talking about a total diffent set up. I believe u will be pleased with the performance.

Lol If you have a receipt for the old ones that you paid $49 for, they will give you $49 credit. Get the new one and $10 extra to spend on line, lures, etc..
