last post I promise

Final Results:

In a very slow time a year those that ventured out contributed on the plus side of $15K between guide fees, lodging and meals to the Lake Fork area. I think everyone enjoyed meeting new and old friends off the TFF. Thank You!

Check in was at the Rusty Nail - LFM. It is the newest place to book rooms and I'm sure a much more difficult place to score in the future.

Stats:

We had 21 boats launch in 29 degree air temps with light freezing fog. 30 signed up but temps and snow took some casualties.

54 anglers including guides

44 fish pics were sent in to our TD Jason Ramage of the McKinney Bass Club.

14 boats caught fish

Big Bass was caught by Johnny Guice a 7.67 landed 37 minutes after first cast. - Won a Big Green Egg

Jay Shipe weighted in the largest and only under 2.07 lbs. @ 15 7/8 inches. - Won $50 of Finch's Nasty Baits

Average fish weight - 4.27 - thanks to the guides

1st - Justin Margraves - Trey Epich - 25.05
2nd - David Vance - Karl Dietz, Jacob Parker - 24.03
3rd - Mike Moody - Jay Alexander - 22.14
4th - Anders Grills - Justin Jones - 20.56
5th - John Tanner - Jay Shipe, Caroline Reeder - 19.56

We did not ask for sponsor for this event, however those that did offer items we gladly accepted. They wanted to be involved and value their TFF customer base.

Donations:

Lake Fork Marina - discounts
Oakridge Marina - discounts
M-Pack Lures - too many hoodies to count
Shimano - a new Chronarch C14+
Finch Nasty Baits - $ 50 of baits - Biggest under
Excite Baits - $ 50 of baits
TFF - hoodies for the winners
Big Green Egg - a $ 1,200 grill for big bass - Thanks ChrisR
McKinney Bass Club - donated use of their scales and TD
Billy the Miller guy - you figure that one out
Santone Lures - 3- 1/2 day guided trips with Skeeter Fowler,
Justin Margraves and Jason Hoffman - very nice!

We also had numerous TFF'ers show up just to help out. - Thanks to all of you!

Enjoyed it but after 3 straight weekend days fishing in freezing temps on cold water I'm ready for a power plant lake again!

Had an absolute blast and it was great putting faces to names with a bunch of great guys. Thanks Billy for giving me the line for my new rig. Thanks to Mike Moody for braving the cold and getting us on fish and bringing home 3rd place. We caught 5 fish more than expected given the conditions. Looking forward to next year! Justin, congrats man!

I know myself, Lake Fork Marina, Tiffany's and all the other guides appreciated the TFF members including Hole Shot for putting this together and helping out the community. Even under cold conditions I think everyone had a good time. Thanks to all of you!

We had a blast, what a great group of guys. The lake produced well even though the conditions were pitiful at best. I'm looking forward to next years event and possibly relieving Musgraves of that top spot. He is getting way to comfortable up there.

hopefully, Justin can continue to guide out of Oak Ridge and Gain a little more respect as a legitimate guide. He may a "newcomer" but he is legit, regardless of where he launches! These tournament results speak volumes as well as his customer satisfaction! Justin rocks, regardless of his TFF ratings!

While i could not afford to hire a guide i had a great time. Bogey came out and we did the deep freeze trip too, lots of respect for all the guides and especially the ones that caught fish in pretty brutal conditions. Got to meet a bunch of ya and hope to get to know y'all better now that i live here. Next yr will be another great time and i am already saving my nickles.

What an awesome event! I've had other commitments both times, but hope to make the next one. Thanks to David and Pat for putting this on and thank you for calling it the TFF Lake Fork Guide Challenge!

The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach
