With all the fog today you couldn't tell what was what! We found some warm water that tells me it's still running.

I assume Welsh has been running full steam all winter? I have only been to Martin except one morning on Perky. I'm excited for Monty to start the other two stacks.

With the EPA's war on coal fired power plants, how much longer will this facility be open? Does it have the necessary new scrubbers? I hope so!!!!

One of Martins units is being shut down in the winter along with two other units from different plants. EPA should be satisfied. Who knows those scrubbers may solve a lot of problems that EPA are concerned with. I'm sure Welsh has them or will install them.

Welsh was built in 1970. They are grandfathered in. They have no polution control at this time. They will not be installing a scrubber system. They have another system they are going to put in.

I am/was planning on hitting Welsh next Monday. I am going to be traveling through the area and thought it would be a great stop since I fished it with good success around the first of January. I was really just looking for a good day of fishing but it sounds like that might not happen now... I have never been to Monti but might try that... What do you guys think? Since it is a Monday I figure boat traffic will be at a minimum.... Monti, Welsh, Fairfield are all on the table. I fished Fairfield about 4 years ago and worry a bit about the latest fish kill. Could also fish Fork, but was really just looking for a "good" day of fishing not necessarily a trophy.
Thanks for your input.
