Thanks to all who turned out for this event.

Was a cold and tough day for sure..... I can honestly say I had never fished in 38 degree water before today.

Congrats to Justin for a repeat win and to all who caught fish today.

On another note, it was good to see some old friends and to put faces with names for those I had not met before.

Will look forward to fishing it again next year.

Just want to say thanks to all the guys and sponsors that put this on as their hard work was much appreciated. Also a big thanks to all the guides that showed up and made a tough day in tough conditions fun despite it all. Not many times we have to deal with 37 degree water in Texas. Enjoyed the heck out of fishing with Steve Hummert and guide Brooks Rogers. I appreciated Steve asking me to team up with him. I have known Brooks a few years but first time in a boat together and I truly enjoyed the old school approach to fishing and the jokes and camraderie were worth the trip alone. He worked his tail off for us today and treated us like old friends.
Being a Lake Fork regular/local I love the way everyone treats you like family out there. Granted at times we may be a dysfunctional family but there are some damn fine people on that lake. The hospitality was second to none. Catching up with old friends and making a couple of new ones is what makes these deals fun. if you left hungry, thirsty or sober it was your own fault. Everyone there was trying to make sure you had some food and a drink in your hand at all times. also loved the giveaways and raffles. Leave it to me to win a collection of baits I already had a ton of...

Last but not least the fuzzy banana hammock and the plastic dog poop in the boat this morning to get us off our game was a funny deal..... ....though we did question just where the hell a man goes to buy one. Much like the mystical unicorn we had no doubt they actually existed till we saw one. ......I thought it was a rod and reel cover.....


On a serious note the weekend was low key and absolutely zero ego or drama. just folks enjoying a great lake and fishing. Will do it again next year and if any guide or participant is on the fence about doing thios i say you are missing out if you do not do it. Its more about fellowship and good times than anything.
