Went about 4 years ago when my best friend got married. We caught mahi and one white marlin. It was fun but really rough and we all got sick...it was a long night before the trip. We were there in September. Plenty of restaurants there to cook your fish for you that do a great job! It's an awesome place! I definitely want to go back some day.

Rooster fish out of the pangas is absolutely awesome. Call redrum charters (they have a good website) down there and they will help you out with the fishing deal. They are awesome people an they are from Texas. 1 thing for sure is don't book anything through your resort they will screw you out of money. Talk to redrum an they will have a really good idea of what the fish will be doing during your trip and what type of fish will be in the area. Me an the GF spent $195 for a panga through redrum an caught several roosters and other fish, it was awesome. The day before I booked one through our resort an paid $450 for a smaller panga and a idiot driver, only caught 1 rooster after I convinced him to go to where I had seen others catching them.

Do yourself a favor and look at this place. It's up on the East Cape (45 minutes or so from Los Cabos). Been there numerous times, and never had a bad time. John and his staff will flat take care of you! They've got archived fishing reports that you can look at to pick a time of year. I personally have had the best luck in July for billfish, dorado, and tuna. The inside bite is great as well for Rooster, pargo, pompano, etc. There is a reef only a few yards out from the resort. Kayak fishing is very popular there, and they have all of the equipment you need available for rent. You can rent 4 wheelers to drive in to Los Barilles. Pretty much my favorite place on Earth! www.rancholeonero.com

Great fishing in Cabo...do your homework and get ready to have some great fun!
Say no to the Cigars...they are all fake!
Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

Listen to what D.Thomas has suggested. Iam at Los Cabos right now and it is a bit North of Cabo. Cabo can be good fishing and a great place to party but a bit of a zoo. It would be worth your while to travel North to the place mentioned and do a day of Panga fishing with your wife. That time of year is even better fishing close to shore than now. Roads are safe and a rental car is an adventure in itself.
Good luck and enjoy your vacation.

Check out Minervas at www.minervas.com. These people treat you right. Thay have been there for 30 years have good boats and catch fish. They have a great tackle store in Cabo too. Minerva is from the US and speaks english like us. Don't hire a boat from one of the street people, you will get ripped off. Everyone there os selling fishing trips. A good trip with lunch and drinks will cost between 700.00 and 800.00 but it will be worth it.
Retirement best job ever.

A group of us went a few Septembers ago, had 3 boats 4 per boat. Our boat Started out for Marlin then decided to concentrate on tuna glade we did. The other 2 boats between them had 1 Marlin hook up and the other boat ended up with 4 tuna. Our boat ended up with 23 tuna. brought the catch back and kept a several that the hotel cooked all different ways...fantastic trip.

What month this summer are you going to go? I live in Cabo and find the east cape area very hot in mid to late summer. The Pacific has a cooling influence on the Cabo side and the crowds are gone by then. The wife might like the night life and the temperature and the fishing options are hard to beat. The East Cape is awesome though and offers great fishing too.
