There have been 2 fish over 10 caught within this last week. Not too bad for how poor she has been fishing.

Fishing looks pretty tough, if you watch the Bass Masters Central, a lot of great sticks and very few fish only 18 limits the first day and then look at the weights for those limits. Yes some nice fish caught but with this caliber of fisherman I would rate it as POOR

wonder what the fish will do with this warmer weather rolling in later this week...or more importantly, what the water temps might reach

The wild swings in temps lately really effect the shallower water which in turn effects the timing of the spawn. I think for those folks traveling any distance to fish Amistad it will be real c$&p shoot until mid March or later.
At least my boat and truck are paid for, woo hoo!

We are heading down there for Good Friday weekend. I hope we have some decent weather, water levels, and active fish.

Are water levels as low this spring as they were last spring?

Was down there Feb 12 & 13th. Caught 2 fish in two days. Everyone I talked to had about the same luck. We concentrated most of our efforts on the Devils River section and Castle Canyon. Fish were deep and the ones I caught were on a Texas Rig and Drop Shot. My gauges showed the water temp was 53 degrees on Wednesday and 55 degrees on Thursday.

Maybe some warmer weather in April will help us out. (Fingers crossed!)

It really varies tremendously and daylight is the key if you are bass fishing. I have found that the length of daylight is what you look for in the spawn on big blue. April is generally the best for me.
