So I am looking into getting one of the shallow anchor poles. A manual one not power.

They sell bow and transom mount. I see all you with power poles and they are on transom. Is that the one I should go with or would a bow one give me some additional benefits?

Boat is a 17ft fish and ski with a TM up front.

Thanks

I would probably recommend the transom mount. Simply because if your boat pivots from the back you can control movement with the trolling motor. If you get the bow mount, you have no way really to control the back of the boat moving around. Now you could have two brackets and one pole to be able to adjust to whichever location works best for the application. Like at the dock locking down the front of the boat and while fishing nose into a cove and let the boat sway back and forth from the transom pivot using your trolling motor. These are my ideas...

If you are just getting one I would get the bow one. Easier access for you to manually adjust it. You want spin as much when you set it into the wind. At the stern the boat will spin with you just like having one power pole.
