Whats the easiest way to replace the insert on a rod tip. I have a St. Croix rod. Just wondering. Thanks for any advice.

I had a St. Croix this happened to. Called them up, I think it was like 5 bucks or something and they got a new one for that exact model w/ the kit to replace it ASAP. Just had to replace the whole guide tip, can't replace the insert. Great customer service experience.

I have a lot of different brand rods. One of my favorite for customer service is Dobyns! If you have a insert come out of any guide call them up and give them the model # of the rod and which guide it is and they will send it to you for free. Last time my rod tip insert came out and when i called them and topld them they shipped 2 to me with the glue already applied. All i had to do was heat up and stick it on. Great customer service!

What everyone neglected to tell you is that the insert cannot be bought or replaced.
The complete guide has to be replaced.

Don't over heat the tip to get it off, pull and twist while you are heating to avoid damaging the rod.

Or go buy a replacement. They aren't all that expensive. I think I got my last rod tips from Southwestern Parts off Mockingbird just east of Irving Boulevard.
