My cattle are notoriously unreliable! I've often noted what the cattle do and what the hunting or fishing is like. I think that old wive's tale is just that. Nice catches! That looks like a flathead, though. Even more impressive

My bad, that's def a channel cat. It will make KW  Couldn't see the tail in the first pic. It's forked, so not a flattie.

Good catching Louis!!! I would stick with the warm water lakes for a couple weeks if I had the option. Catching is more fun than fishing when it's cold

I think I made it to 30 bass. Caught them on rattle trap, deep diving crankbait, lizard, and spinnerbait. All between 14 and 18 inches. Everything and everywhere I tried caught fish. Started out skipping my favorite spots and headed toward the warmer waters. It was plenty breezy and with the air temps 34 starting out I wasn't interested in messing around in the colder water. On the water around 10 this morning, never saw another boat until 11. Guess I'm ready again for a cold water lake.
