Thinking about fishing the surf in port aransas this weekend. (If the weather warms up!) Any suggestions??

Well, it really depends what you want.... I was down there a couple of weeks ago and decided to go the route of numbers over size.
If your wanting to stay busy, I'd recommend the park at the end of Cotter Street in Port Aransas. You will be fishing for whiting. The best bait, hands down is shrimp flavored FishBites. White is my favorite, but I've also done well with green and pink. The great thing about this park is that you are given the choice of the surf on one side and the channel (Lidia Ann?) on the other side.
There is a good chance of redfish prowling about the surf still, but this might be slower type fishing. You may have better luck bouncing bucktails in the channel...
