Guys, can you tell me the best release of software to go to for the 998? This unit is from 2012 and has never been updated to my knowledge.

If you don't plan on adding the 360 transducer, iPilot Link, or heading sensor GPS antenna, then software version 6.490 is the best.
Check what software version you have in the System Status view.
You can get that on the sideimagingsoft web site

Yes, you have to register.
After than is completed, you will have access to the software download section.
