My wife was blow drying her hair in the bathroom this morning when her blow dryer stopped working. She plugged the dryer into another outlet in another room and it worked fine. I just checked and the GFI will not reset and the breaker is not tripped. I tried the other outlet in that bathroom and it does not work either.
Is the GFI bad and preventing the other outlet from getting power as well? Any reason to not just install a new GFI tomorrow?

Sounds like it probably just needs to be replaced. Bathroom outlets get a workout from to many amps being pulled by hairdryers and curling irons.
