I pray that I may live to fish

until my dying day,

And when it comes to my last cast,

I then most humbly pray.

When in the Lords great landing net,

and peacefully asleep,

That in His mercy I be judged,

BIG ENOUGH TO KEEP !!!!

Here's ya one:
When I get sick of rubber worms,
and tired of flat warm beer.
When I get sick of day old bread,
and buying fishing gear.
When I no longer miss the wind and rain,
and sitting in the cold.......
I will then and ONLY then,
Hang up my fishing pole !

Just day's before all hell breaks loose in Iraq, I know our thoughts and prayers are with our Sons and Daughters and Brothers and Sisters and Friends and Neighbors who may be in for some tough days ahead. May you all return to us safely. God Bless America!!!!

Here's one I got out of Bassmaster a few years back that was written by Homer Circle:


A BASSIN' MANS PRAYER
Almighty and all loving Father,
We fishermen thank thee
For thy blessings of thy great outdoors,
Especially for the privilege
to pursue our sport
as free men and women in a free nation.
And we especially thank thee
for thy son Jesus,
who so loved fishermen
that he chose four or more
among His twelve Apostles.
And in years to come, Dear Lord,
as each Bassin' man comes to thee,
Please remember these are a special breed.
Their spirits would not be content
to walk Alabaster streets.
Grant them instead
Clean water with a quiet chop
with enough honey holes
to last an eternity
and a Bassin' Buddy to share it with.
