I just read that article this morning in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram regarding the early completion of dredging at Lake Worth. Does anybody have any facts or speculation on the effect of the dredging on bass population, growth, and future bass fishing at the lake? The article claimed the dredging removed some stumps.

I wouldn't worry, as long as there's some brushpiles ... smile

I don't think it will have any negative effect on the bass population or growth. Might actually help long-term by increasing the depth in some very shallow areas. Can't speculate on the stump removal because I don't know how many and where from. To my knowledge there was no dredging north of Jacksboro Highway. It has been a nuisance for fishermen because you couldn't go in areas being dredged or when the pipe was floating, but no huge deal. I think it will help overall. Don't be fooled, however, that there are no shallow areas remaining, for there's a lot of them still out there.

In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

I wish they would dredge a boat lane up the river. At least to the buoys
