A few years ago there was a huge hatch of these brown butterfly's in South Texas, i mean just thick with them, i was crossing this low water concrete bridge on the Medina River and these bass where jumping out of the water slamming those butterfly's , I went home and came back with my ultrilite and a small zoom brown jig trailer rigged on a hook, I can't remember how many 1 pound bass I caught that day bu it was every cast if As swarm of butterfly's were coming through, in between swarms not a bite, sure was a cool deal for sure.

Have seen bass do that during summer time with grass hopers sitting on the water after falling of docks or walls very cool stuff

I've seen bass eating dragonflies like this at a 12 acre pond near Celina. The pond was in bad shape- gin clear water, lot's of grass, and skinny starving fish, so these bass were taking advantage of the forage they could see! It was bright, clear skies on a summer afternoon so they could see them very clearly. Mostly they would wait for the dragonflies to land on the surface, but some of the fish definitely would jump into the air to catch them. We tied on buzz baits and caught over 100.

It's fly line that's why it cut thru the water like that its very thick. You are actually casting the fly line not the fly. That's go pro at its finest right there.
