Running two 10's and one 12, on a Odyssey group 31 haven't had any isues for about a year, run line wells all day, I'm not say battery doesn't need a good charge after a touranment day, but it cranks the mercury at the end of the day. Battery is 2 years old also, I know they are high but if you buy a new cracking battery ever year it worth it. My 2 cents

Odyssey grp 31 is 100 amp hrs at C20 rating.

had noticed low voltage on my two 1198s and when i cranked engine it would turn off units i am guessing due to low voltage.so i would have to start both units again.
my solution new diehard platinum 31m and wired both units directly to battery with 3 amp fuses.I have never spent that much $ on a battery and the wiring was a bit of a pain but when you go fishing having battery issues is not a problem you want to have

A simple solution if running Lowrance HDS is to put the ones you are not using in standby mode by hitting power/enter when you want it in standby and power/exit to bring it out. I have gotten into the habit of doing this when I leave the cockpit and when pulling trolling motor to move to a different spot. Only takes a second. 'spoon

Are you keeping your cranking battery charged when in storage?? Even though the big motor charges the battery when running I like to have my charger charge it up with in storage or when I get off the water and park it at the hotel..

A lot of pros and anglers with these high demand graphs like the 1198 and the hds10 12 ect are putting in a second cranking battery in parallel, this will solve your problem. I am running two cranking batteries and 3 for the trolling motor, also have a tournament saver pro for a back up, have not used it much since going to two batteries

Make sure that your connections are tight and clean.

I have an HDS 10, HDS 8 and Structure scan. I can run them all day long without any issues as long as I move around from time to time. However, if I am running both aerators and recircs even on medium timer, then I will have a dead starting battery by the end of the day. If I turn on the oxygenators, then that will guarantee a dead battery.

The best solution is to install you a battery switch. Wire it so that you cranking battery is battery #1 and one of your trolling motor batteries is battery #2. Make sure you use the "bottom" battery conencted to the ground of the trolling motor for battery #2 as you will have to put them on a common ground. This works great for me. If it is the end of the day and I need to head to weighin, it literally takes two seconds to rotate the switch. In addition, it gives you the option to parallel the batteries if needed and get a lot of cranking juice.

Note, you will want to wire your electronics off of the starting battery to reduce noise generation from the trolling motor.

I had to buy all new batteries when I had my graphs installed and jj marine did the installs they put 27 interstates in. the graphs don't draw that much, I have merc 225 and 2 graphs and hydrowave, and a sonic hub all going all day not a problem I check your batteries if 1 is bad in the group it drains quicker

Unless disconnected when in storage, the gps puck will drain batteries while in storage. It may be the batteries are already partially drained when you go out.
