Diel11, when you say "break in the clouds of shad", do you mean a gap in the clouds of shad, and what is the rationale of that? Does it mean that hybrids have chased the shad away creating the gap?

Very impressive. Geez, I can't remember the last time I caught even one hybrid.

Yes sir, looking for a gap. And yes again, it seems they break the cloud up as they attack it. Most of the hybrids today had huge bellies and a couple threw up fresh shad that were still alive. So they were actively feeding.

I'm happy as a clam when I catch fish. But if you are ever in a teaching mood, let me know D11. Always willing to learn to target bigger fish. Great report!

Do you know what dirty sox smells like?

How are you fishing the fluke? Slow retrieve? Jigging? Or dead sticking?

The fish were suspended at 25ft in 40 foot of water when I left at 2:45. We were a mile south of Spillway hump, deadsticking crappie jigs, while thumping the side of the boat over bait. Got a couple nice hybrids and fifty whites between 1:00 and 2:45.

We have been using a blue and pearl white Thump Buddy, but they preferred the High Noon Thump Buddy today. Rigged on 1/4oz jig heads with number four hooks, and six pound hi vis line. Sure is fun on the ultra lights!
