 Where are the best places to fish freshwater near houston?

I live near baytown, tx and was wondering if the forum might guide me towards good freshwater fishing holes near Houston. I'm new to fishing so any info will help. Thanks.

I'm a guide on the Trinity River , Lake Livingston and Conroe is you want to fish on any of them. The whites , crappie and catfish are really turning on right now. www.sawgrassoutfitters.com936-661-3410 Jason Kelley

I put my kayak on Buffalo Run Park. It's nice, and has some nice bass in it. Tom bass park is also an option, no boats, pretty much a big deep hole, but an option. Sheldon is not bad either. Raven is my favorite so far. It's in Huntsville state park, 5 dollar entry fee. Big bass in there.

The white bass should be biting in spring creek by now. Can fish from the bank at Jesse jones park or launch a boat at the marina just east of the 59 bridge on hamblen rd. head west under the bridge and take a left at the fork in the river
