After seeing the weights from Bass Champs, I'm having doubts about the fishing on Amistad. How deep are the fish? When was the last DD caught there?

Plan on going this weekend to try and learn more about side & down scan! May not wet a hook, but that would be as many fish as I caught last trip. Lol

When you finally hear about the dds being caught is when the bite will have gone south again.

Sometimes it's a lot better to worry about being the first person to catch a dd in a long while.

Anytime you have the opportunity to get on Amistad,it's always worth it, catching fish there is just a bonus

I am blessed to have a opportunity to live a childhood dream as a professional wrestler

There are still fish at Amistad. The Bud Light Tournament had 50 teams and there was some good stringers caught and I think there was around 10 fish over 4 lbs biggest being a 7+. Amistad right now is not the same old Amistad, where anyone that owns a boat could put on a senko and catch fish all day long. You have to put the time on the water and find the fish, they are there. I don't think there are as many fish as we used to have but there is still plenty of fish out there. If it was easy and everyone was catching double digits then there would be no challenge or accomplishment.

Went a few times in the fall and it was just awful. Had friends who fished bass champs and he said all you had to do was catch 3 fish and you were pretty much guaranteed money. Once the grass gets back in there the way it needs to be then I think we will see more people catching fish. All I can recommend is down size.

There was an 8 lber caught in Sun Country and a 9 in the BLT this weekend. However there was some very good teams in both events that did not catch a fish. Sun Country cancelled on Sunday due to high wind and rain. texas There were a few teams that cashed a check at the last Bass champs..That did mot catch a fish this week. It's tough enough the way it is, and this up and down weather is only making it worse

There were a lot of the BASS open guys prefishing this week.. We talked to some who were commenting on how many bites they thought they had. Not how many fish they caught.

Yes Sir; Got there Tues night started fishing Wed morn. Air temp was 27. water temp on my graph was 49-50.......froze again Thur. morn.. By Friday I actually saw 46 on my temp gauge.
It popped back up to 50-52 by Saturday afternoon. But was cold rain an wind Sunday morn.
Crazy hammer 46 maybe the coldest water temp I have seen on Amistad.. I have fished it a lot every winter since 95...
