I might be interested in linking as a co-angler....I will have to decide because one of the tournaments conflicts with one day of the Legends of Fork tournament.

There are a few boaters struggling to find links this year for some reason.

Its a great draw circuit. I fished it 3 or 4 years and have to say I never had a bad draw. Its mainly just a bunch of good guys that you won't mind spending a day in the boat with. And ya just might learn something. If you are on the fence as a Co angler, go ahead and jump on in. If you don't have a big boat or do have a big boat it is the cheapest way to fish tournaments if you are a CO. Just pay your entry and give your boater at least $40 bucks for gas. Its hard to fish a tournament anywhere on a weekend for that. Lots of Co's pre fish with their link on friday, thats what I did, gives you two days on the water, and lots of the boaters welcome the extra bait in the water as long as you aren't sticking everything that bites. Its a good time.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but how does this link thing work? I see a bunch of guys asking for links.

Rockie,

I have fished the Weekend Series before as a boater.

You will be fishing with a great group of anglers and a great tournament director.

Your best bet for getting a co link is to call ABA and tell them you need a link to see if there is a co link waiting.

For future reference. Try to get a link before the series starts and link for all the tournamnets and then your set.

Good Luck this year.

There are no stupid questions.

The weekend series is a draw format. There needs to be as many co-anglers as there are boaters.
So they came up with a link system. If you have a link you're guaranteed to be paired with a co-angler and this is by draw. You don't get paired with your link but can be paired with your link by luck of the draw.

If they are short on co-anglers there is a chance you may not get to fish if your not linked. But if there is a overage of boaters then you have the option of pairing up with other boaters.

Another thing is if your link doesn't show you may not get to fish if there are not enough co-anglers or your link didn't have someone sub for them.

Is that complicated enough for you? LOL

Thanks! Yeah it is pretty confusing but I was able to look at what you wrote and their website. Looks like a lot of fun. Good luck!
