If your new to fishing Cedar Creek, like myself, be aware.....I usually put in at the 3rd 198 bridge in log cabin. When you go under the bridge headed to the main lake, about 30 yards out from the bridge, is an old bridge just under water level. You will find some pieces of my stanless steel prop and a chunk of my lower end.....I have been through there 20 times in the last couple of months and this is the first time I have hit anything. Anyone know someone "affordable" to repair my prop ?

Ouch! Sorry to hear that...I always wonder with as many times as we run the lakes never hitting anything and then one day, you find it. How many times have we come close? Guess it is not a question of "if" but more "when" will I hit something I don't see? I don't typically fish Cedar Creek but once in a great while...Hope you find a good fix.

If you work the pylons with good sonar you will be shocked to see what was left down there. Sorry about your prop, seems to be par for the course when an old one comes down and new one goes up. Props and "affordable" are hard to find in the same sentence , but most folks swear by Steve's Props based on what is seen on the forum. If you need repairs to the motor, Rockwall Marine is where I go.

Try Steves' custom props, I believe it's in Quinlin by Lake Fork great guy to do business with.

Check with a couple of Marine Repair/Sales Business in your area. Almost all have a 'Prop Repair' company they can send your prop off to. Normally takes a couple of weeks to get it back.

After I felt the "THUD" I then turned pages from my lake maps to the down scan and seen the EVIL OLD BRIDGE that lerks just below the surface. I called Rockwall Marine and found out just how much my prop is to replace so the next step is to contact Steve. Thanks for all the input, it is greatly appreciated

I would take the boat/motor/prop to Rockwall Marine. Steve is who they use for their prop work, one stop shop. I took boat there for annual maintenance and was going to take my prop to Steve's for tuning/blue printing when John let me know Steve does all their prop work, same cost. Can't beat either of these companies for customer service and quality of work. Been taking my boats to them for the past 7 years.

Really need Rockwall marine to check your lower unit/ propshaft. Bent one will eat up your seals and bearings.

If you're talking about going under the 198 bridge on the right side then you're in for a whole lotta trouble. I will never run on plane under the right side of the bridge. I have fished many time on that side and know what is exactly out there. The water should be low enough now that you can actually see the old concrete structures laying on the bottom. Also I will not run on plane on the right side going out Caney to the main lake. I run on the left side and staying out from the small points that jet out into the lake if I'm going to the main lake.Staying to the left all the way out because there is an old stand of big timber in the middle just before the jog into Clear. Use to be bouys on them long ago.
Sorry to hear about your damage. Rockwall Marine will take good care of you and your boat.

Same thing happened to a buddy of mine a few weeks ago at that same place. Bent shaft and trashed the lower unit. That makes for a bad day...

Just past the bridge out to about the third pillars there is a very shallow point with a house foundation and a set of old concrete stairs that can be hit when the lake is 3 to 4 foot low. as others say stay out to the middle or left side when running, if fishing you may find some good fish on this point as well with the bridge/road on the other side of the bridge. Be safe out there and good luck.
