Can't go wrong with a lizzard
I've been a trucker for yrs so haven't been able to fish as much as i'd like , but i'm trying to learn. My son goes with me , so that is cool,he is trying to learn also, we both want to become better fisherman.

Short Drop shot with Dimiki hydra. Short drop shot as well. If it becomes to finicky and leaves when you cast, leave the bait there till it comes back and then work it like you would any other time

Color will differ on the water u fishing but all u need is some brush hogs, sweet beavers (double wide) work good, and some lizards. That's all I throw at them in the weeds.

Okay I will throw this out there. Some may think it's stupid but here goes. One of my weapons in the spawn is the original Johnson Beetle spin in the largest size, white with red dot. Sorry, I don't know what the color is called, I don't even think they have a color name for it on the box. Anyway I don't put the spinner on just use the jig part. It's hard to fish it around pads because the hook is exposed. When fishing it the red dot faces up. I think the solid white with the one spot of red is key. It's real easy to see, and it does not take a rocket scientist to cathch the bedding fish with it. Never seen anyone else do this. Best part about them is that they are like 80 cents at Walmart. You can by a ton and not break the bank.

Drop shot stick bait. White lizard. Ring fry chartreuse. Something you can see if shallow and sunny, natural colors if not. Brush Hog. Someone wise told me to use chartreuse spike it on my brush hogs. When I bed fish, I have all three ready to go. Like said above, anything will work if you annoy her enough. CANT WAIT!!
