Anyone had any luck with this? I'll be throwing some again on Fork this year trying to get bit. Gary Klein swears by this technique and says the perfect time is in Feb in mid to upper 40 degree water. Brooks Rogers is the only one on Fork that I know of that has had success with this.

I've had some really good buzzbait days in jan and feb, but it's been a few years. What's worked better for me is burning a swimjig on the surface with a ragetail craw or grub on the back. Had some amazing days doing this with water temps in the mid to upper 40s. It works best when the water temp has risen a few degrees over the past few days, like a sudden increase from 45 to 48. When its working, you can't reel too fast.

Caught em on pines a few years ago at the begenning of February. The key was to make as long casts as possible. We caught a lot of buck bass and it's a good way to find beds in stained water.

I agree find you some spawning flats 2 to 4 feet make long cast's were the buzz bait just breaks the surface you can load the boat I like a three bladed buzz you can bring it in slower

I love throwing buzzbaits, but haven't done it much in February. Im usually pitching jigs and burning traps at that time.

If you find some rip rap or other rocks on a sunny day...let the rocks warm up a bit..then parallel the bank with the buzzbait...slow and steady....

I have caught quite a few in cold water as well as blistering hot days in direct sun. If i fish through a spot i have a good feeling should be holding fish and don't get bit i'll flip around and make 1 or 2 long casts back to it with a black buzz bait. Never know

Love a war eagle buzzbait in colder water. The blades on it allow you to fish it extremely slow
