Has anyone put the 2.1 update on there hds units. Been trying to do mine and can't seem to get it to work

Oddly enough, just updated mine today. I had a bit of an issue at first as I copied the entire hds update folder to my sd card. Seems that you have to open the unzipped hds update folder on your pc and then copy the file inside. Then your unit should automatically update like it is supposed to. Instructions from Lowrance are not clear in that area. Good luck!

Yea I unzipped all the files and put them on ad card but still didnt work. Not sure if I am doing something wrong.

I had issues with it at first then I tried a different sd card and it worked fine.

Something to do with using wireless module and point -1 electronic compass. All info about what the update is for is on the lowrance website.
Unit must be powered off, then install sd card, then power unit on. Should start update automatically.

Been on that version since August. Did it as soon as I got the units. the 2.1 is mainly wirelss stuff the Gen 2 2.0 has the sharing of one navionics card which is nice.

Cool thanks, there is a lot more that gets updated than I thought. It says The HDS Gen2 internal GPS antenna now updates at a rate of 5Hz (5 times per second)that is a plus. I don't have any wireless stuff. But I do plan on getting the point 1 antenna in the future.

The update is awesome! 2.0 had some issues and 2.1 fixed them but the best new feature is the sharing of 1 map card. All kinds of water changing options too (low water shading, highlight certain zones, etc) It was a great update

I just updated my gen one units to the 4.1 or whatever the last update lowrance did for them. I have not been on the water since the update to see if I see any changes though

Have an HDS-10, Gen 2 - and an HDS-8 Gen 1 networked. I just did this 2.1 update into the HDS-10, accepted it perfectly - BUT, my Navionics card doesn't share with the HDS-8.
Something I'm missing here?
