Had the good fortune of fishing with Robert (Old Coach) and Greg today. We got on the water about 9am. Day started out slow and didn't pcik up until about 1:00. Using tips and jigs we got from Big Crappie last week and tips/slabs from 3 nice fellows today we finally found the key. Silver slab on the bottom and blue bobby garland jig above and varying our presentation we ended up with a nice cooler of fat sandies. Caught some dead sticking but most were caught with slow, very slow roll on the bottom. Even when the screen was blank we would pick up fish. I think they were hugging the bottom so close they were hard to see. The bite (if you could call it that) was very light, just a tick, if you felt anything at all set the hook. Felt like a tiny sunfish nibbling on a worm. Fish were caught in 25-40 FOW. Wind was a bit breezy at times but calmed down later in the day.

Steve, that's a good description of the light bite. Feels the same way with Mepps when I use rod to move it up and down and sideways. Pointing the rod at the line and reeling it feels like a very suttle tug.

I have been using a 4" fluke about 18"s above a 5" fluke. They have been hitting it with gusto. Redfin was using a 4" fluke and we were both getting bit hard.

Hey guys,

I'm going to try Cedar Creek for the first time tomorrow with my son and would love to put him on some fish. I've read a lot about Dennis's map...seems like he's the go to guy for Cedar Creek. Dennis if you read this do you sharing it to me? Or if anyone has it and wouldn't mind sharing I would really appreciate it? Thanks guys.

Fishing_Engineer, here's the map and good luck. Hopefully I'll see you out there today. What does your boat look like? Dennis

Thank you Dennis for sharing this information that you've spent a lot of time compiling. Extremely nice of you. My wife and I will be out this afternoon in a maroon Crestliner. I think we're going to put in at Fisherman's Wharf and fish that end of the lake. Then I'll bring my son tomorrow afternoon when he gets home from church camp. Thanks again for your help.
